The Field Museum

We wish we had more time at the Field Museum! It was totally worth the trip. The kids were GREAT, especially considering how much time they had in the car and that they both missed their naps. There was so much to see, we felt like we would have liked another full day there.


The real lions of Tsavo are there! You know, the ones who ate a ton of people?

Gillian's favorite exhibits were anything where she could see her own reflection. She kissed herself in the glass before we got wise to that and kept her far enough away to keep her from doing it. She was also just very interested in the dirt in the bottom of this exhibit. She kept telling me it was "yucky," and "no touching."

Explaining the mummies to Sam was a bit tricky. I think I glossed over it to the point that he didn't understand they were real dead people. We had a bit of an incident in the big mammal exhibit - all of the walking made him have to pee, and I could not for the life of me figure out how to get back out of there. We made it to the bathroom with no time to spare!
