A conversation
Oh, the joys of having two kids! Most of the time they get along so, so well. But not always! This was a conversation we had in the van on the way to work this morning:
Gillian: Horses, where are you? Are you still sleeping?
Sam: They're probably asleep somewhere, Gillian. But not by the gas station. There are never horses by a gas station.
Gillian: HORSES? I CAN'T SEE YOU! ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING? IN THE BARN?
Sam: They're not here, Gillian. Stop it.
Gillian: HORSES, ARE YOU SLEEPING? IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP, HORSES!
Sam: Ugh! Stop it!
Gillian: Horses, I can't see you! Are you asleep right now?
Sam: Owwww. Oh, owwwwww. Ouch, mom.
Me: What's wrong, Sam?
Gillian: HORSES, WAKE UP NOW! IT'S TIME--
Sam: Mom, my ears are hurting!
Gillian: HORSES --
Sam: Because I'm jamming my fingers in them so hard but I can STILL HEAR GILLIAN!
Gillian: STOP IT, SAMMY!
Sam: YOU STOP IT, GILLIAN! STOP POINTING AT ME!
Gillian: YOU STOP POINTING! HORSES ARE YOU AWAKE YET?
Sam: Stop waving your arms around!
Gillian: You stop it!
Me: Everyone keep your hands to yourself!
Sam: Stop it, Gillian!
Gillian: Keep your hands on yourself, Sammy!
