Leaving Las Vegas ... our flights got screwed up and we ended up having to wait at the airport for about 11 hours before taking a red-eye to Chicago, waiting some more, and then flying home.
But seriously ... aren't these some beautiful sleeping babies?
A while before we were due to board our flight, a group of service men and women sat down in the waiting area at the gate. They'd been at one of the airport bars and they were pretty rowdy. But as soon as one of them noticed the kids sleeping on the floor, they all quieted right down and stopped swearing! It was the sweetest thing - a group of adults going out of their way to make things better for my kids. I guess maybe that's the mindset of the armed forces anyway, right? To make things better for the rest of us? I wish I'd said thank you before we boarded the flight.
